Gilchrist blessed with a baby girl August 25, 2004 17:14 IST The Australians, who made it to the tri-series final despite their league match against Pakistan being abandoned due to rain on Wednesday, were greeted with more good news when they learnt that vice-captain Adam Gilchrist and his wife Mel have been blessed with a baby girl. Annie Jean Gilchrist was born at St. John of God Hospital, Subiaco in Australia this morning. Weighing at healthy 7 pound and 7 ounce, Annie is the couple's second child behind older brother Harrison. According to a Cricket Australia press release, both mother and daughter were doing well. Gilchrist did not travel with the Australian team to Holland for the tri-series but will rejoin the squad in England next week ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy starting on September 10. Also read:
