Pakistan will not pull out
of Sharjah tournament

March 25, 2003 14:56 IST

Pakistan will not pull out of the triangular ODI tournament in Sharjah despite the withdrawal of South Africa for safety reasons in view of the war in Iraq.

Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka were due to take part in the 10-day tournament starting April 1. It is the first international event after the World Cup.

"Pakistan has no plans to pull out of the tournament," Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Samiul Hasan told Reuters.
