Srinath opts out; Sehwag for camp

Fast bowler Javagal Srinath opted out of the camp for the New Zealand tour, the Board for Control of Cricket in India announced in Mumbai on Monday.

The BCCI said the lanky pacer opted out due to an injury for which he is undergoing treatment. When S K Nair was asked about the nature of Srinath's injury he said, "Please ask Srinath."

The entire India 'A' team has been invited to participate in the camp.

Thirty-six names, including that of the injured Virender Sehwag, have been announced as probables for the camp.

Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif, who are currently playing for various counties in England, will not take part in the conditioning camp. But they will be available for the second part from September 1.
 
The camp will be followed by Challenger trophy, which will be held from September 10-14. India Seniors, India 'A' and India 'B' will take part.
