Dubai, the city of skyscrapers has 63 buildings that stand taller than 200 metres (656 ft), more than any other city in the world, surpassing even Hong Kong and New York City.

There are 125 buildings that are taller than 150 metres. The glitzy city also has 17 buildings with a height of over 300 metres (984 ft).

The history of skyscrapers in Dubai began with the construction of the 149-metre (489 ft) Dubai World Trade Centre in 1979.

Burj Khalifa
Height: 2,717 feet
Floors: 160

Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of Chicago designed the building with Adrian Smith as chief architect, and Bill Baker as chief structural engineer. The total cost for the project was about $1.5 billion.
