At the auto show, Maruti showcased some of its existing cars in a new avatar. Here are some of them.

Ciaz concept

First we start with the concept car Ciaz. At its core, the Ciaz previews the next generation sedan from the brand which will replace the SX4 sedan.

Maruti has started testing the production version of this car, with several test mules being spied in and around New Delhi.

When it is launched later this year, the Ciaz will be powered by petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol engine is expected to be the four-cylinder 1.4-liter K-Series engine seen on the Ertiga. On the MPV, this engine outputs 95 PS and 130 Nm of torque.

The doors of the small hatchback feature an interesting body decal, which resembles a Google Map for a city. The 7-spoke alloy wheels are also new.

Wagon R Xrest

If Maruti decides to convert the Wagon R into a soft crossover (like the Cross Polo for instance), this is what it would look like.

The hatchback receives plastic mouldings throughout the lower part of its body, while silver skid guards are seen at the front, rear and sides of the car.

Ertiga Altair

The side profile of the car reveals a thick chrome strip as well.

It’s towards the rear where the Altair shocked us. Seeing those added plastic reflectors, we are instantly reminded of the Honda Mobilio, which coincidentally had its Indian reveal at the Auto Expo.

Ritz Jubilo

We like the way this Ritz looks at the rear with its smoked taillights, a gloss-black finish for the rear garnish and a not-so-overdone rear bumper.

Other customisations on this Ritz include new alloy wheels and a full body kit with side skirts and bumper spoilers.

Swift Volt

The Maruti Swift Volt is an interesting take on the popular Swift hatchback.

Before you start day-dreaming, let us inform you that the Swift Volt is not an electric/hybrid concept (as its name suggests), but is in fact a regular Swift with a nice body kit.

Swift Volt

Featuring an extensive body kit with low-set skirts and multi-spoke alloy wheels, we find the wing mirrors of the Volt particularly interesting with their almost concept-car like design.

Towards the rear, we became a huge fan of the dual exhaust pipes which are neatly integrated in the aggressively-styled bumper.

Swift Volt

The interior is similar to the road-going version with the exception of racing seats.

Overall, the Swift Volt sports a tasteful modification, which we would like to see the company offer as accessories in the very least.

EECO Piknik

Towards the rear, the exhaust tip is neatly integrated in the new bumper and the number plate garnish is revised with a black applique with the car’s name on it.

We quite like the Eeco Piknik, but this is a special project for the auto exhibition and not for the production line.
