In order to avoid a repeat of the Monika Devi doping scandal-like incident before the Olympics, the National Anti-Doping Agency has tested the urine samples of all Indian athletes except a few who were based abroad for training, its Director General said on Wednesday.
In a bid to put an end to the drug controversy, the Sports Ministry on Monday directed the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) to immediately carry out dope tests on star boxer Vijender Singh, who has been accused of consuming heroin by the Punjab police.
In a reconciliatory gesture, the Sports ministry made an exception for BCCI by extending the last date for filing nominations for Arjuna awards to July 20.
