A suspected militant was killed as the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid after a fierce gunbattle along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Troops guarding the border line in Laam forward area in Nowshera sector observed the movement of some militants around 3.30 pm today and launched a search, Army officials said.
The incident took place at Kurumahat in Hansdiha police station area, around 300 km from the state capital Ranchi, on Friday night when a tourist couple from Spain was spending the night at a makeshift tent.
Troops noticed some suspicious movement of a large number of terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Lacchipora area of Uri sector at around 7.00 pm on Sunday, the sources said.
