Dr Sujit Pandit of Ann Arbor, Michigan, got off lightly at the hands of immigration officials in India, in comparison to seven- year-old Viraj and three-and-a-half-year-old Vrishabh, who three years ago were deported within two hours of landing for not carrying their old passports.
They denied a temporary landing permit to 12-year-old Medha Ghosh and deported her, along with her mother, within an hour of their landing.
He also re-opened the issue of a fresh enquiry about the mysterious disappearance of Netaji and felt it would be more effective to have an investigative inquiry by experts to find out the reality.
A Union Cabinet note said, "There seems to be no scope for doubt that he died in the air crash of 18th August 1945 at Taihoku. Government of India has already accepted this position. There is no evidence whatsoever to the contrary."
