Russia on Wednesday blamed human error as the prime cause of the crash that killed Poland's President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others, saying the crew of the presidential aircraft were forced to land in bad weather by a drunk Polish air force commander.
A plane carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski crashed near a Russian airport on Saturday. According to media reports, the plane was carrying 87 passengers.Kaczynski, who was on his way to Smolensk from Moscow, was accompanied by his wife.Kaczynski was reportedly traveling to Smolensk to mark the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre, when thousands of Poles were killed by Soviet troops.
