An army jawan was killed and another injured in an ongoing operation to flush out militants near Line of Control in Kalaroos sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
After a brief gunfight, 'extreme restraint was exercised and opportunity given to the terrorists to surrender'.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kalaroos village of the district following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, a police official said.
Secretary of Pakistan's ministry of water resources Khawaja Shumail said: "We have neither concern nor objection if India diverts water of eastern rivers and supplies it to its people or uses it for other purposes, as the IWT allows it to do so."
The bodies of the three persons killed in an alleged fake encounter on April 30 on the Line of Control (LoC) by the army were exhumed on Friday afternoon and were identified by the relatives.
