A complaint has been lodged against Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kumar Vishwas and hundred others for staging a dharna inside a police station, police sources said in Amethi on Saturday.
The members of the Dal alleged that the hotel staffers were throwing meat in the open and cows were getting sick after consuming the remains.
The court said had the prosecution witnesses not turned hostile, the outcome of the trial would have been different.
"The police not only arrested us, but also beat up some of our members mercilessly. We have not come here to break the law. Why is the police stopping us from moving freely in an independent democratic country," Patkar sought to know.
At present, 22 accused, mostly police personnel from Gujarat and Rajasthan, are facing trial in the case.
