Businessman Raj Kundra on Tuesday walked out of a Mumbai jail, a day after a magistrate court granted bail to the key accused in a pornographic films case in which he was arrested two months ago.
While rejecting their bail pleas on July 28 in a case related to alleged production and streaming of pornographic content through apps, the court also said that the police had followed the legal procedure.
A Mumbai court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of businessman Raj Kundra, arrested in a case of alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through apps, after the prosecution contended the police investigation was still on and his release at this juncture will derail the probe.
A local court, while granting bail to businessman Raj Kundra, a key accused in a pornographic films case, noted that the element of inducement, which is the prime ingredient in cheating offences, appears to be missing from the case presented by the prosecution.
The crime branch of Mumbai Police, which is probing the case, had sought the proclamation, saying that the Indian Police Service officer could not be traced even after the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against him.
