Local Nationalist Congress Party leader Ganesh Maroti Matey was allegedly kidnapped from Kanhan near in Nagpur and murdered by goons following which his body was thrown on the railway tracks on the Nagpur-Gondia route, police said on Saturday.
In the worst hit Sitapur district, 40 people, including women and children, were killed in a number of incidents of house collapse.
