A fresh attempt by Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss to ease out All India Institute of Medical Sciences Director P Venugopal from his post failed again on Friday when the Union Cabinet did not take up an ordinance to fix the term of the head of the premier medical institute. Reports said Ramadoss, who is at loggerheads with Venugopal, had planned to get the ordinance cleared by the Cabinet but it was not taken up. An attempt by him before the monsoon session had also failed.
