Archery World Cup: Indian women stun South Korea; bag gold

The trio of Bombayala Devi, Deepika Kumari and Rimil Buriuly came up with a brilliant performance to beat the mighty South Koreans in the final of the recurve team final in Poland on Sunday.

The women’s recurve team to their credit have won back-to-back World Cup titles.

The Indian trio got the better of Korea 219-215.

The Indian team consisting of World No.2 Deepika Kumari put up a flawless performance to beat the reigning Olympic champions in a tight contest.

The match was tied at 163 each after 18 arrows and there was little to choose between the teams at that stage.

All three Indian girls shot near perfection in the final 6 arrows to help India cross the finishing line with a 219-215 margin.

Last month, the same team had won the gold medal in the World Cup in Colombia.
