The biggest snowstorm to hit the US east coast in more than a decade has left at least six people dead and homes across five states without power.
Residents have begun the back-breaking task of shovelling away as much as a metre of snow after a blizzard hit the region.
As the region recovered, another large winter storm building across the Northern Plains is expected to leave a foot of snow and bring high winds from Colorado to central Minnesota into Monday, the National Weather Service said.
