It was raining tomatoes yet again, but this year at a price. Facing a squashed budget, the Spanish town of Bunol charged a few for the first time.
Revellers paid at least 10 Euros for the privilege of pelting tomatoes. And to hop on to the trucks carrying tomatoes, the charge was 750 Euros.
The annual La Tomatina attracted around 20,000 people this year. Around 150,000 tomatoes were pelted during the festivities that lasted one hour. Revellers were earlier upset about the charge on the festival, but it was all forgotten as they soaked themselves in the red pulp.
Rediff.com brings you the best pictures from the biggest food fight in the world.
