Three supporters of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, including two Sri Lankan nationals, have been arrested by the 'Q' Branch of the Tamil Nadu police and an amount of Rs 4.59 lakh and 44 walkie talkies seized from them, the police said on Monday.

The 'Q' branch is the intelligence wing of the state police, which deals with the threats posed by militant and extremist organisations.

However, three others traveling in a van intercepted during a vehicle check by police early on Sunday morning at the Villapuram area escaped, police said, adding that the van has been seized.

Thirty-five litres of resin was also seized from the residence of one of the arrested, police said.   The three were later produced before the Judicial Magistrate's court, which remanded them to 15 days' judicial custody.
