President Pervez Musharraf [Images] had on March 19 deferred the execution of Sarabjit by 30 days after the Indian government made a formal appeal for clemency.

The new lifeline for Sarabjit comes even as kin of victims of the bomb attacks took to the streets demanding that no leniency be shown to Sarabjit.

More details are awaited.
