According to the organisation Save The Children -- one third of the injured in Lebanon are children. UNICEF adds that 45 per cent of Lebanese refugees are below 18.
A very small country, Lebanon has seen repeated conflicts -- including a 15-year civil war (1975 to 1990) -- that left thousands of refugees.
Many families have been deprived of their homes. Schools, roads, bridges and civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and thousands face the grim possibility of living in refugee camps yet again.
