Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi on Tuesday ruled out his resignation in the wake of the Central Bureau of Investigation filing a charge sheet against him in a case of forgery.

"Why should I resign? Do you expect all Congress chief ministers to resign if the CBI starts charge-sheeting them?" he asked reporters in Raipur.

He said the CBI charge sheet is politically motivated and he "will contest it in a court of law and I am sure these charges will be struck down."

When asked if the central leadership of his party also holds the same view, Jogi said: "What transpires between me and my high command, I can't divulge here. But yes, I have been in touch with the high command."

Jogi said the Bharatiya Janata Party is targeting him because he is tribal.
