'Pooja Missra smokes something else other than cigarettes'

Kalbeliya dancer and women's rights activist Gulabo Sapera was evicted from the Bigg Boss house over the weekend. She was pitted against model-cum-VJ Pooja Missra whose high voltage drama with other housemates made news inside and outside the house.

Gulabo was present in the house for two weeks. She sportingly dressed up as a cheerleader when asked to, took the responsibility of being the head chef of the house and sported an athletic look with her track suit and ran on the treadmill. But all of this did not save her from getting evicted.

Gulabo is very upset over her eviction. "I am shocked that the janata chose Pooja over me to stay in the house. I have now understood that this is just not the place for people who are honest and cultured," she says.

'Whenever I tried to speak to the girls, they would just get up and go'

Gulabo feels her simplicity was overshadowed by her two-faced housemates. She was always seen dressed in a ghagra-choli and couldn't gel with the other modern celebs.

"The people who were sweet to me on my face were the ones who nominated me (Shakti Kapoor, Mahek Chahel, and Juhi Parmar). I do not belong to television so the housemates hardly spoke to me. Mehak would tell me to interact with the housemates and give footage which would save me from eviction. But whenever I tried to speak to these girls, they would just get up and go. How will I make conversation if nobody is around? Will it look good if I speak to the camera?"

She felt a misfit, she says. "I am an artist and I don't know how to manipulate. I couldn't add spice to the show by fighting. I am not brought up to fight over petty issues. I didn't even gossip much and didn't have dual faces in front of the housemates."

So what was the experience like on the whole? "It was a nice experience because I got to see and learn a lot. I thought I would stay for longer so I came with three boxes of clothes. Earlier, people knew me by name, but now they know me by face. There are many people who are running dance classes in my name (fake ones), now people will know the real Gulabo."

'Pooja Missra is not normal'

Pooja, after kicking the dustbin and breaking the mop, got into an ugly spat with housemates. All the housemates wanted her out; Shonali Nagrani even wanted to go on hunger strike for the same. However, against everyone's wishes Pooja is still inside the house.

Gulabo doesn't mince words when asked about Pooja's behaviour. "I think she is not normal. She smokes a lot in the smoking zone. I am sure she smokes something else also other than cigarettes. After she comes out of the smoking area she behaves like a mad person. Housemates get it from her if they have any issues with her. It was scary when she broke the mop."

'The housemates are all hungry for publicity'

Gulabo wanted to use the Bigg Boss winner cash prize to build a school in her hometown Ajmer, and teach not only dance but also handiwork like jewellery making.

"My children convinced me to come on the show. I wish I had known what the show was like before entering it. Then I would have tried to survive in the house for longer. I have struggled a lot in life and wanted to promote my art through this show," she said.

Will she miss anyone from the show? "No! They are not my friends and all are hungry for publicity," she says bluntly.
