Actor Sacha Baron Cohen, whose mockumentary comedy films Borat and Bruno, became famous the world over, looks determined to make his upcoming film The Dictator an even bigger hit.

One of the early arrivals at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival that commenced today, the actor made an appearance in character.

He was photographed aboard a luxury yacht in the French Riviera, and fooling around with supermodel Elisabetta Canalis.

Elisabetta Canalis, better known as George Clooney's ex girlfriend, wore a pink bikini as 'The Dictator' gave her a playful massage.

The pair is later seen having an arguement.

The supermodel is subsequently shot at and thrown in the water by his bodyguards.

The actor is flanked by his in-character bodyguard as he soaks up the sun on the yacht.

He had pulled a similar stunt at the Academy awards earlier this year.

The actor made a show out of his arrival at the famed Carlton hotel as well.

He came perched on a camel from which he later fell.

The hotel was decked up with gigantic pictures of The Dictator and the flags of the fictional country he rules in the film.

Later, he was clicked at the hotel entrance, dressed in his military suit and flanked by pretty bodyguards, taking at dig at the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who was assassinated by rebels last year.

The film will be screened at the festival.
