Jennifer Hudson has always surprised us. She went on to become the most successful contestant from American Idol even though she'd finished seventh in the competition.

The singer/actress has won an Academy award for her role in Dreamgirls and a Grammy for her debut album Jennifer Hudson.
That isn't all. Hudson lost close to 80 pounds in the last year and her new svelte frame has been a hit worldwide. Buoyed by her weight loss success, the former American Idol participant opened her own weight loss centre in Chicago yesterday.

Sophie Dahl started out as a model but soon left it all behind to follow her illustrious grandfather Roald Dahl's footsteps and became a writer.

She also famously went ahead and lost all the extra weight that had earlier brought her modelling assignments.

Dahl had first gained recognition as a plus size model breaking in the mainstream when she was spotted by a Vogue stylist.

She's also worked with Vogue as a visitng columnist.

Knocked up star and director/comedian Seth Rogen's weight loss journey is equally dramatic.

The Canadian actor's recent appearances have recieved approving nods for his leaner and slick new look.

Rogen was clicked at the premiere of the film Paul at the Grauman's Chinese theatre in Hollywood, California March 14, 2011.

Before his makeover, Rogen put his chubby frame to good use by playing slacker characters like that in Knocked Up and 2008 romantic comedy Zack & Miri Make A Porno.

Musician Courtney Love, more famously known as Kurt Cobain's widow, took everybody with surprise when she attended the Cannes Film Festival looking quite fit and sober.

Having had her share of troubles with drugs, Love hit an all time low in 2005 when she was given a 180 days sentence to be served in her residential drug treatment programme for her parole violations.
