Bollywood gears up for Amitabh's birthday bash

Here's what your favourite Bollywood celebrities are tweeting.

Bollywood stars are getting ready for the big event of the year -- Amitabh Bachchan's 70th birthday bash.

Wife Jaya Bachchan has made the arrangement. There will be a dance programme of Indian contemporary ballet, based on excerpts of Harivansh Rai Bachchan's famous works, to be recited by the Big B himself.

Rana Daggubati ‏tweeted: 'Now headed to Mumbai for the celebrations of the @SrBachchan's 70th.'

Music composer Salim Merchant wrote: 'Excited and honoured to go to @SrBachchan 's 70th birthday celebration tonite! Its going to be epic!'

Ronit Roy ‏tweeted: 'As @SrBachchan 's birthday approaches,I've been extended the extreme privilege to be part of his celebrations tonight! Much have done something right to deserve the honor of being at the bringing in @SrBachchan 's 70th while my BD creeps in alongside too.'

Dia Mirza will be giving the party a miss. Birthday wishes have also started pouring. 

Shekhar Kapur tweeted: 'U have been n inspiration for a billion Indians from many generations. May you continue to b the 'Forever Man'. Happy Birthday. I realized I wished @SrBachchan Happy Birthday a day early, but atleast that will make me the first :) Eagerness.'

Amitabh Bachchan has already tweeted his gratitude: 'The family prepares an evening for me and I am overwhelmed .. i come in early just to express my gratitude and love again .. TY !! Birthdays are special for all .. mine is no different for tomorrow .. but would never be the same without your love and affection'

Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Dia Mirza, who were in Jakarta for a show, bonded together backstage. 

Bipasha shared a picture of them together and tweeted: 'Always happy to see these happy girls @priyankachopra n @deespeak .Sickness took a backseat!Had a good time in Jakarta!' 

Priyanka Chopra also posted a picture and tweeted: 'Chilled with the girls after sooo long. @bipsluvurself n @deespeak !!! Lost track of my exhaustion!' 

Dia Mirza captured the moment as well and tweeted another picture: 'Here's one more! Was so much fun.'

Lisa Ray offered a sneak peek of her wedding sari on Twitter. 'Sneak peek of my custom designed, one-off sari courtesy @satyapaulcanada for the Wedding. #trousseau,' she tweeted with the picture (above). 

A R Rahman, who performed at Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's One World Concert yesterday, shared a picture of himself with American actor and musician Dave Matthews, and added: 'Having breakfast with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. He says, INDIA IS THE LIVING EXAMPLE FOR UNITY... and coexistence!'
