Right now, he's very gung-ho about this Friday's release, Mithya, directed by longtime buddy Rajat Kapoor. While the trailers seem full of regular yet zany fun, Sheorey stuns with his declaration: "It's the single most complex part I've ever played."
Struggling to explain the role without giving up any plot details, he settles on saying the film, and his character, traverse various genres. "Very basically speaking, it's a comic thriller. That's it. But within that, there are very strong elements of drama. Then there's a love story, a full-blown romantic track. And somewhere there is tragedy as well." He laughs. "It's quite a task, this film."
On the surface, he plays a struggling actor who comes to Mumbai dreaming that he'll be able to cut it but "nothing happens at that end, and he's thrown out of his life," Ranvir says, refusing to spill any more. "The sheer range of the role is huge."
