Is working with a director who is a close buddy easier, or harder? "It's easier because we understand each other completely and have a complete comfort level, but it's harder because he pushes me more than anyone else, and gives me painful parts." He talks about Kapoor fondly, an "if-not-for-Rajat" feeling permeating his words constantly.
Sheorey honestly expects audiences to like Mithya a lot. "But they shouldn't go in expecting another Bheja Fry," he declares. He agrees that while people might go into Ugly Aur Pagli expecting another Pyaar Ke Side Effects, those two films -- both quirky romcoms -- aren't as far removed as Mithya and Bheja Fry, reluctantly calling the new film "more richer."
Bheja Fry, for all its success, was an unveiled 'adaptation' of the French film Le Diner De Cons (The Dinner Game). Does Mithya too owe its origins to some DVD? Shorey almost bristles at the thought. "Not at all. This is a script Rajat wrote eight-nine years ago, and has polished over the years. There are some elements you may have seen in popular cinema, but they're so common that they've become part of the genre. No, this isn't a rip-off in any way, I assure you."
