Mammootty's role is more than a usual guest appearance. In the film, his character is seen coming for the shooting of a movie titled Pakshikal Parakkatte.
The story revolves around a barber named Balan (Sreenivasan), who lives in a remote village called Melukavu. The old fashioned barber finds the going tough with the coming of a more stylised saloon in the vicinity.
His family consists of wife Sreedevi (Meena) and three kids. But things take an abrupt turn when a film unit comes to the village. News began to do the rounds that superstar Ashok Raj (Mammootty) is a childhood friend of Balan and the hero had chosen the location to meet his old chum.
Suddenly Balan becomes a sought after figure in the area. People queue up at his doorstep to get introduced to the film star.
But did Balan actually share a rapport with the star at some point of time? And if they did, what was the relation like? All these questions will be answered on screen, when Kadha Parayumbol hits the theatres, on December 20.
