The film has been shot mainly in Thodupuzha.
According to Sreenivasan, "we have taken the name Melukavu from a real-life place in the neighbourhood as the people from the area were genuinely friendly towards us when we were shooting there. If that is not enough, the name of the village gets a mention in one of the songs as well."
When asked how he is managing as a producer, Sreenivasan said in his inimitable style, "Our role as producers is mainly limited to borrowing money from friends when we run short of cash."
