"When Subhash Ghai asked me to come for the film, I did not know anything about it and had not even seen any of Kukunoor's films. I went and watched it and realised how a simple film was so moving."

Husain sa'ab has not stopped with the praise. "This is the language of cinema; I am concerned by this language. The simplicity and its powerful storytelling, and the way Kukunoor has made it, is to be seen."

He shares another secret: he does not like cricket. "Yet, I was spellbound watching it. There was no melodrama, and the discerning eye could notice certain nuances. The script is creative with good realism in it. Kukunoor is an intelligent

and creative young man who has written an original film. Most of the time people are adapting stories from Hollywood and other language films, and here Kukunoor has done some original work," he says, flourishing his signature oversized brush.
