In How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Kate Hudson plays Andie Anderson, a magazine journalist who is writing a story on how to dump a guy in ten days. On her mission, she runs into Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey), a ladies’ man who has taken a bet with his friends that he can make a woman fall for him in 10 days.

Karen Patch designed the golden silk charmeuse dress to match the huge yellow diamond that Hudson's character wore in the film. Her creation became a hit far bigger than the movie, which was panned by most critics.

Among Patch's previous credits are the Gene Hackman-Gwyneth Paltrow-Kumar Pallana starrer The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and The School Of Rock (2003), starring Jack Black.
