Judianna Makovsky designed the long gown and wizard's hat worn by Professor Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris) in Chris Columbus’ Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), for which she won an Academy Award.

The New Jersey-born designer is known to be an avid collector of men's ties. Among her other notable credits are The Devil’s Advocate (1997), the Sandra Bullock-Nicole Kidman starrer Practical Magic (1998) and Seabiscuit (2003), for which she received an Academy Award nomination. In 1998 she was also nominated for Pleasantville.
