LPG cylinder sales: How the Indian states rank

Gas cylinders are at the centre of a controversy in India. The UPA government faces one of the biggest test of its times as allies and opposition parties continue to criticize the government on its decision to cap the number of subsidised cylinders at six.
The government has now asked the Congress-ruled states to hike the cap on subsidised cylinders to nine.
A consumer will get only six cylinders in a year at the subsidised cost of Rs 405 per cylinder. Crossing this limit will prove to be an expensive affair as any extra cylinder will cost Rs 747.
