Hyundai India Jan sales up 28%

Hyundai Motor India,  a wholly owned subsidiary of Korean Hyundai Motor Company, on Thursday reported a 28 per cent increase in sales for the month of January at 20,911 units.

While domestic sales grew 15.3 per cent to 14,540 units in January 2005 from 12,608 units in January 2004, exports zoomed 44 per cent to 6,371 units in Jan 2005 from 4,427 units in Jan 2004, accounting for 30.4 per cent of total sales in January 2005, a company release said.

In the B segment the company sold 11,770 units, 2,280 units were sold in the C segment while 397 units were sold in the D segment. A total of 93 units were sold in the E segment, the release said.

Commenting on the performance, B H Sung, managing director, HMIL, said, "The acceptance of Hyundai cars by the customers has been the result of the company's sincere endeavour to provide globally the best and the latest products and customer care.

"Addressing the needs and demands of discerning Indian customer we will be rolling out more products from the Hyundai stable, strengthening our commitment to our customers in India." he said.
