US-based voice enabled SMS applications provider Bubble Motion will invest about Rs 25 crore (Rs 250 million) in setting up an R&D centre in India, besides increasing its headcount nine fold this year.

The company, which allows mobile users to record, send and listen SMSes in their own voice, would also establish its first office in India by December.

"We will set up our corporate office and research and development center in Delhi by the end of this year," Sunil Coushik, co-founder and president told PTI. The company, which currently has an operation team of five persons, would also increase its headcount to 40-45 this year, he said.

Bubble Motion recently got a $20 million funding from venture capital fund Sequoia Capital, for its expansion plans, he added.  "About 25-30 per cent of the total funding will be invested in increasing our presence in India," Coushik said.

The company, which has already launched its 'BubbleTalk' in Chandigarh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, is planning a nation-wide launch of the service in alliance with its existing partner Bharti Airtel.

"We are looking for revenues of around $4-5 million globally by the end of this year and after our nationwide launch, we expect 50 per cent of the revenues to come from India by 2007," Coushik said.

The value-added service provider plans to outsource its support centre for its services, in all the other four countries, to India in the future.
