In the world of fashion and entertainment, pretty much everyone can get their hands on high-end couture.

And so, in order to stand out in a sea of equally famous faces, celebrities sometimes have to take a fashion risk or two in a bid to make an impression.

In the following pages, we bring you the biggest sartorial risks stars have undertaken this year -- take our poll and let us know whether you love each look or hate it!

We start off with our best-known desi fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who always dares to be different. Of everything she's worn this year, this draped sari-pant combo by Anamika Khanna is one of the more recent and certainly the most unusual.

We're used to seeing blazers on the red carpet -- what we're not used to is seeing them worn minus any pants!

They say either plunging neckline or thigh-high slit, never both. But supermodel Heidi Klum threw caution to the wind in this lace-up blue and gold studded Versace gown last month.

Futuristic fashion is not without its faults. But they're hard to spot on Dipannita Sharma -- she's carried off this strapless Gavin Miguel gown like a true intergalactic queen!

High-waisted leathery pants that end at the ankle. But model Hasleen Kaur was at home and looking rather edgy in them, along with her black Rajat Tangri embellished top.

And finally we come to the lovely Kirsten Dunst, who wore this not-so-lovely Rodarte blazer and skirt combo to the Met Gala. Too, too old-school. Maybe it would have made an impression sans the skirt!
