Every now and then a famous face decides to strip off for a glamorous publication and makes waves in the entertainment industry. But of course, some nude magazine covers are far more memorable than others and it's easy to see why.

The 26-year-old singing sensation surprised everyone when she struck a pose wearing nothing but jewellery and deep red lipstick for British GQ last year.

This 12-year-old cover of Maxim remains etched in many memories thanks to the saucy American model-actress -- she wore nothing but her underwear and a necklace for the shoot.

At 46 on VH1's list we have stunning Kate, who wrapped herself up in a bedsheet for Vanity Fair's Italian edition in 2006.

Gaga decided to forego her regular eccentricities for Out Magazine in 2009, posing sensually in her birthday suit with lipstick smeared across her face.

Except for a strategically placed caption (and we agree thoroughly with what it says!), the popster was topless on the front of Blender six years ago.

Despite issuing an apology shortly after, the backlash was massive and the Dixie Chicks, inflamed by the continuous barrage of hate, decided to wear nothing but expressions that were hurled their way during this tense time.

It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so Esquire decided to promote a story by Stephen King in 2009 by plastering it onto the naked Israeli supermodel. Maybe they thought it would encourage more people to read closely?
