Road tripping to Munnar
The next town was Batlagundu, 35 km from Dindigul. The road to Periyakulum, the next town which is 28 km from Batlagundu, borders the Kodai Hill. Kodai is just 80 km from Batlagundu.
I reached Theni at 2.30 pm where I stopped for lunch at Nandini Food Park on Periyakulam road. It was a decent place, and, after a meal of chapattis and omelette I was back on the road to Munnar at 3 pm.
Airfare for Rs 599 and less!
The regular road from Theni to Munnar is via Bodi NH 49 which connects Madurai-Kochi. But the road after Bodi was being broadened. I had to take a diversion through Cumbam.
The route: Theni-Kumily road-Utampalayam-Cumbam.
I reached Cumbam, 45 km from Theni, at 4.10 pm. From Cumbam I took a right after the police station to Cumbammettu in Kerala.
