Supta Utthan padasana (Lying leg raise, double leg version)

January 3, 2008
Lie on your back, placing hands along your body. Inhale and raise both legs up. Exhale drop legs gently back to ground. Do thrice.

For weight loss and reducing belly fat, you have to bring the legs down really slowly, stopping at several angles along the way: at 90 degrees (angle formed by legs and body), 75 degrees, 45 degrees, and 25 degrees off the ground. But this requires abdominal stamina, that will take regular practice over a few weeks or even months.

It must not be attempted initially, till such stamina is achieved, since this can injure the abdominal muscles or spine.

Avoid: If having lower backache, heart or high BP problems

Benefits: Same as the single leg version, more enhanced. Helps lose weight belly fat and firms stomach.
