On top of Chembra!

At the halfway point, we stopped by a small heart-shaped lake. It was beautiful and we spent some time there, clicking pictures.

We thought we were the first ones on the trek that day, and were surprised when we spotted some people at a distance ahead. At first we thought they were climbing up, but a few minutes later we realized they were heading back!

We were quite surprised to see they were a young couple. They were on their honeymoon and had decided to take a trek.

They told us the path further up was very slippery and the visibility very poor and advised us to go back. We decided to carry on.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

This was the most difficult part of the trek. The terrain was full of tall grass and the path was very slippery. There was a sense of achievement when we reached the top and we shouted at the top of our voices to celebrate.

However, the visibility was near zero. We spent some time at the summit and gobbled up the bread, bun and biscuits we had taken with us. The place was littered with plastic and paper, which Suhas promptly collected and dumped into our backpacks to carry back. What a noble deed, I thought.
