A teary-eyed Zinta managed to compose herself, though she looked very disappointed.

The match was not limited to the cricket field alone. Social networking sites made it a Veer-Zaara face-off.

KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan played Veer while Preity was Zaara in the 2004 romantic drama Veer-Zaara.

Also, KKR had an advantage as they beat the Kings in Qualifier 1.

Khan’s Knights had won on eight matches on a trot going into the final and were high on confidence.

King Khan’s fans could not get enough of the star. They went berserk when the superstar donned the Kings XI Punjab jersey in tribute to Preity’s losing side.
