The major problem with colon cancer is that its symptoms are frequently indistinct in their early stages and appear to be similar to common digestive disorders like piles, infections or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), warns Dr Mohammed Mithi, surgical oncologist at Saifee Hospital.
