Barely two months after hmiliating defeats in their own backyard at the hands of same opponents, Australia travelled to South Africa and won the Test series there.
The Australians started the series as favorites, but a stirring show by the visitors put them on the backfoot after the first two ODIs. The wounded Kangaroos came back strongly, winning the next two outings at Sydney and Adelaide. Sadly, rain played spoilsport in the deciding ODI at Brisbane.
With twin series wins in one fruitful tour of Australia, South Africa go back with a lot of confidence as the top-ranked ODI team.
