Bale impressed one and all the last time Spurs met defending champs Inter Milan in their group qualifier two weeks ago.

Bale's hat-trick brought the Spurs back into the match, and now as both teams go into Tuesday's Champions League return leg at San Siro, the focus is on the Welshman.

"Bale played a great game," Inter president Massimo Moratti said after his stunning treble.

"In the past we have tracked him but now he's worth an awful lot more. We were a bit shocked by that Tottenham comeback."
