How Net savvy are you on a scale of one to ten?
I'm not very Internet savvy. I'd probably give myself a five.
What do you enjoy doing on the Net?
I like chatting with my friends… basically keeping in touch.
What is your daily routine like? How much time do you spend online?
I log on only twice or thrice a month. I have been really busy lately, travelling a lot. Everything around me is moving so fast that at the end of the day I'm so tired and all I want to do is fall asleep.
What is your idea of a perfect Web site?
Well, it should have a lot of information because that is what you are looking for in the first place.
What are your favourite sites?
I especially like the music sites.
Have you ever been ego-surfing?
Not really. I check my mail though, that's all I do.
Is there something you would like to buy or sell online?
No I haven't yet tried that.
What is your favourite Web-based gadget?
A laptop. It's easy to lug around and the best thing about it is that you can get whatever info you want, whenever you want it.
What do you like most about the Internet? What do you hate about it?
It is all about information. There is so much knowledge. Everything you require is there for you at the click of a button. And it gets constantly updated, which is why reading news online is so much more interesting than reading it in a newspaper. I also like to keep myself updated on the entertainment front, and be a part of it.
However, it is very addictive. Once you are hooked you lose all track of time. Your mom is like, "The dinner is getting cold," and you are like," Just one second mom".
Have you ever chatted with strangers? Did you reveal your identity?
Never. You never know what it could lead to.
Any strange experiences online?
When I was in Delhi, I was chatting with people at Indiatimes.com and someone wanted to know what kind of qualities I'd want in a boyfriend. The guy turned out to be someone from my colony. I'm not really very excited about guys landing up at my doorstep after chatting with me... things like that happen all the time.
Is there any one celebrity you would like to chat online with?
Amitabh Bachchan is someone I would love to chat with. I'd ask him just one
question, "Why are you married?"
If you could change anything about the Internet, what would it be?
I have nothing against the Net, everything for it instead. Right now it's our reference guide to the world. We are provided with such a great facility.
