SRK detention drama and more

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was detained at a New York airport for over two hours by immigration officials after arriving from India in a private plane with Nita Ambani, to address students at Yale University.While Nita, wife of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and the rest of their group were cleared immediately, Khan was stopped and was given immigration clearance only after about two hours. Earlier, SRK was detained at the Newark Airport in New Jersey. Check out the rediff's exclusive video.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan enthralled the students of Yale University as he came to the Ivy League institution as a Chubb Fellow, one of its top honours.
Khan charmed the crowd as he spoke to them about success and failure and how to live life to the fullest. He encouraged young people to find fulfilment in creativity, to learn to laugh at themselves and to never become cynical about their lives.

The lecture took a light-hearted turn when Khan danced his signature 'Chammak Challo' moves with Yale student and dean of the institute.

"This is the most fun I have had in months!" Khan said.

Earthquake tremors felt in Chennai



A powerful 8.6 magnitude earthquake and a series of strong aftershocks struck off Indonesia on Wednesday, sending people scurrying from buildings as far away as southern India, but there seemed little risk of a disastrous tsunami as in 2004. India withdrew a national tsunami alert issued after huge earthquakes struck off Indonesia on Wednesday, the Indian tsunami warning centre said.This video sent by a reader shows how the tremors caused panic in Chennai.

In a setback for filmmaker Subhash Ghai, the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by his Mukta Arts Ltd challenging a Bombay High Court verdict cancelling the allotment of 20 acres of land in Goregaon, Mumbai for his film academy.

The high court on February 9 quashed the allotment of the land for Whistling Woods International, a joint venture between Mukta Arts and the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Culture Development Corp for a state-of-the-art film institute and research centre.
