When Dr Singh and Obama met...

When Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President Barack Obama sat down at the long table in Hyderabad House in New Delhi, the venue for the government's summit meetings, who were the ministers and officials present on both sides?

With a little help from Rediff.com's Editor in Washington, DC, Aziz Haniffa, Rajesh Karkera constructs a who's who from this Press Information Bureau photograph.

Not seen in this photograph, but on the prime minister's right were Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, Union Minister Salman Khurshid, the minister-in-waiting for President Obama, and National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon.

On President Obama's left were Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who spent a part of his childhood in New Delhi when his father worked for the Ford Foundation, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, National Security Adviser Tom Donilon and William Burns, Under Secretary of State.
