Is Narendra Modi's anguish over Gujarat riots genuine? Your Say!

December 27, 2013 17:51 IST

In a lengthy blog post, Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has shared details of the “harrowing ordeal” he went through in the aftermath of the Gujarat riots in 2002.

In the post, Modi claimed that he was “shaken to the core” by the communal carnage and “suffered in solitude” as he was in a position of power.

The Gujarat CM, who has never quite shaken off the stigma of his alleged role in the riots, says he was “accused of the death and misery of my own loved ones, my Gujarati brothers and sisters”.

“Can you imagine the inner turmoil and shock of being blamed for the very events that have shattered you,” says Modi.

We are asking YOU, our dear readers, if you think Narendra Modi’s remorse is genuine?

Or is it just another political gambit by the BJP’s PM candidate?
