Pakistani UAV shot down

February 06, 2003 04:21 IST

A Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle, on a spying mission, was on Wednesday shot down by Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, an army spokesman in New Delhi said.

As soon as the UAV was noticed violating the Indian airspace over Mendhar sector of Poonch, alert troops opened fire bringing it down. The debris of the spy plane fell 400m from the Line of Control within Indian territory, the spokesman said.
