Suspected case of SARS in Jaipur

April 22, 2003 11:14 IST

A patient with suspected symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome has been admitted to a hospital in Jaipur.

The patient, who was back from New York on April 15, was admitted to the SMS Hospital on Monday and was immediately shifted to the isolation ward, hospital sources told PTI on Tuesday.

While some tests are being conducted at a local laboratory, samples of the patient's blood and cough have been sent to Delhi, they said.

A team of doctors has been constituted to closely monitor the patient who was referred to the hospital by his family physician after he complained of high fever, fatigue and body ache, the sources added.
